Message from the Desk of The Deputy Principal.

Administration Finance and Development


The Division  of Administration Finance and Development welcomes you to AUC.   The Division of Administration  Finance and Development (AFD)  implements  policies, procedures and directives on behalf the university council.  The Division has  the critical and essential function of resourcing the division of Academic student affairs, research and extension through  timely, appropriate, and adequate human, finance and physical resource.

The Division continues to ensure that it sources the right  quality  of its Human  resource through a competitive recruitment  process, as  enshrined in the values and Principles of Kenyan Public Service, to meet the needs of our growing institutions  We endeavor to  remain a place of choice for staff by creating and maintaining  a conducive work environment.

The Division is committed to ensuring that the  funds in  AUC are  utilized   in accordance  with the  Principles of Public Finance Management Act (PFM Act 2012),guided by the procedures , and policies as adopted by the University Council

AUC  as growing institution , has had the huge  task  of  develop physical infrastructure that meet the demands   and standards of  University Education.The past three years has seen  the following infrastructure  developed;

  • Phase one of a 1500 – seater library
  • Main Administration block
  • Anatomy Laboratory
  • Pathology Laboratory
  • biochemistry Laboratory
  • micro- biology Laboratory
  • General science laboratory
  • Lecture rooms
  • in the FY2019/2020 the university bus for 47 seater  to easy the transport needs of the  student

Human Resource

The Procurement Department reports administratively to the Office of Deputy Principal (AFD), However functionally it is directly under the Office of the Principal.

The Department envisions to be a Center of Excellence and Professionalism in execution of  Procurement Function.

The Department in its Mission strives to provide user departments, suppliers and stakeholders with world class goods and services that add value by meeting their needs and expectations at the lowest cost possible, in accordance to the Public Procurement and Disposal Act (PPDA, 2015 and its regulations

The staff in Procurement Department endeavors to adhere to the following core values

  • Professionalism in carrying out duties;
  • Integrity in dealing with all stakeholders;
  • Transparency and accountability in all activities;
  • Fair play in dealing with users and suppliers;
  • Promotion of public confidence in the procurement process; and,
  • Promotion of fair competition in procurement process.

Finance department functions include;

Formulation and Implementation of financial policies and procedures as outlined in the PFM Act 2012

  •  Budgeting and forecasting financial outcomes of Alupe University
  •  Management of student finance
  •  Financial reporting

The services offered in the department are:-

  • Processing payments
  • Receipt of revenue
  • Timely billing
  • Receipt of student’s fees and preparation of student’s fees reports
  • Preparation of financial statements and annual reports, quarterly reports and management reports
  • Payroll processing
  • Budgetary control

In Human Resource department, we endeavour to ensure that Alupe University College (AUC) attracts and retains a highly skilled workforce that will help the institution attain its bottom line. Our functions include but not limited to:
